You’ll begin your studies with an immersion in the discipline of legal reasoning. You’ll build a foundational understanding of the ways that attorneys are trained to navigate complex situations. You’ll also become familiar with the common law method by which doctrine is created; the importance and authority of statutes, codes, and regulations; and the structure of the U.S. legal system and its various actors and venues.

Our Master of Studies in Law program will provide you with a robust understanding of the compliance and ethics landscape and the ability to apply that knowledge in practical ways.

Over 21 months, you’ll gain a deep understanding of subjects like compliance programming, risk management, the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), conducting investigations, white-collar crime, ethical culture and decision making, cybersecurity and project management. You’ll also engage with executives and leaders in the industry as they share their perspectives on ethics and compliance.

Tuition & Scholarships

Tuition for the M.S.L. program is $39,975 at current rates. Students also are required to pay a technology fee of $115.50 per term. There may also be costs associated with textbooks, copyright fees and commencement fees.

The Dean’s Compliance Scholarship is awarded on behalf of the dean of the University of St. Thomas School of Law to qualified applicants.
